Meet the Owners
We
the pilot/owners of Inland Aviation are long time residents of Aniak.
Yes, we live here all year round, from 70 below zero to 70 above zero,
unlike many tour operators who only arrive during the summer season.
It is our belief that we live in one of the best areas left on the planet for big game hunting, big fish fishing, and big adventure. Our year round presence insures we know the country. We realize each of you are travelling here on vacation and are seeking relief from hassles of day to day life. We make every effort to give you the best service possible, with a smile and a bit of humor wherever possible. Steve and Mike will do all we can to insure you have a good time on your vacation and a successful hunting/fishing expedition. We are all experienced bush pilots with a total of 26,000+ hours of flight experience, most of it in the Aniak region. There isn't a creek bed, remote valley, or lush hillside we haven't safely covered in our years of flying this country. Steve Hill has lived in the Kuskokwim region for over 26 years. He has already hunted, fished, and flown over all the country within 100 miles of Aniak in any direction. He knows the best places to get the particular game you are looking for because he's done it before. Just don't get him telling stories because you'll have to stay a whole extra day just to listen (and most of them will even be true!).
He's flown everything from Piper Cubs to Cessna 207's to Beech 1900 airliners since he was 16 years old. There aren't too many in the world today with his level of Alaska flying experience.
Ray Dorsey migrated to Alaska from the plains of Kansas in his own airplane in 1976, originally to work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. You'll know he's around by the great smelling blend of pipe tobacco while working to keep the Inland Aviation fleet ticking along smoothly. A graduate of the Spartan School of Aeronautics, Ray has spent the last 26 years solidifying his reputation as a top-notch mechanic throughout the Kenai Peninsula and Western Alaska.
